Day 6

Activity 1:
I am going to Germany,
but I cannot speak German
But I can say,
somethings like Gutentag and Hallo
It is too hard to learn,
with only a day before I go.
I must be feeling scared,
but I can not forget

Activity 2:
Bonus Activity:
  • German-
Guten Morgen
Auf Wiedersehen
Wie viel kostet das
Wann fährt der nächste Bus
Wo ist das nächste Krankenhaus

Hi Robin,

I am so excited that you have chosen Germany - I am a Kiwi who is living in Germany at the moment!
I can relate to your blog post - I arrived in Germany last year and could only say a handful of phrases! Looking forward to reading more on your blog!

Cheers,
Carolyn

Hey Robin,

Great work on the poem! Travelling to a new country can be pretty daunting if you're not sure what to expect, especially if you've only got a day to prepare. Although in your photo you don't look too scared? You look pretty calm, like you've got it all under control which is a good thing!

Well done on translating the Bonus Activity phrases too. If you're travelling somewhere where they speak a different language, it's always a smart idea to try and learn a few simple words or phrases to help you out on your travels. Can you speak any other languages? Or have you been somewhere that they didn't speak English before? If you have, how did you find it not being able to understand what people were saying?

If you're still unsure about finding your way around Germany, you could ask Carolyn a few questions about what it's like if she's living there at the moment. That way you could figure out all the cool things to go and visit!

Naku noa,
Dan.
