Arctic
- Arctic region is the northern most point on earth
- Comes from Greek word, ἄρκτος (arktos) which means bear

- Global warming is causing the sea ice to get smaller
- Arctic Council is made up of the USA, Finland, Iceland, Denmark (Greenland and the Faroe Islands), Canada, Russia, Norway, and Sweden, who mostly look after environmental issues, not boundary issues
- Polar bears are found in the Arctic, but not in the Antarctic where penguins are found
- No country owns the North Pole or the ocean around it
